MediCal is health care insurance for children, pregnant women, families, the elderly, blind and disabled.

Medi-Cal can pay for the expenses of pre-natal care, dental care, physical therapy, pharmacy services, vision care, nursing home care, emergency medical transportation and other medical expenses.

How Do I Apply for MediCal?

• An application can be obtained by calling a local social services office and requesting an application be mailed.
• An application can be picked up at a local social services office.
• After completing the application, it can be mailed to the local social services office, without seeing an eligibility worker, using the postage paid envelope included with the application. 
• To apply in person, or get help completing the application, go into your local social services office. If an appointment is desired, call the local social services office to get one.
