Why Keep Learning

A college education or vocational/technical school training can take you from a minimum-wage job into a job you really enjoy with good pay. Getting an education opens doors and gives you choices in your desired career. People who seek higher learning:

  • Have an expanded range of job possibilities and options,
  • Aquire lifelong learning skills, and
  • Are in a better position to help friend, families and their community.

If you are not not really sure what your future holds for you, think as if you will be going to college or a vocational/technical school. The things you will learn will help you achieve the very best in life.

The more time you spend in college or vocational/technical program, the greater your income is likely to become. Jobs that require a college education or certification often pay more and give you more personal choices and enjoyment of your career.

A minimum-wage job is great when you are just getting started in the job market but think of yourself in that job for the next 20 or 30 years? Does this appeal to you? Without a college degree or vocational/technical certification, it will be difficult to get jobs that pay higher than mimimum-wage.

Many high schools and some businesses offer technical and vocational programs. These programs can assist you in building skills in your desired field and may give you an opportunity to work at a real job while you train. Click here for more information on these types of programs...
