Moving Credits for Courses Completed

The procedure of determining how a course will count toward a degree is the same at all colleges; the dean of the school or division in which the degree is given makes the final decision.

The requirements for degrees are set by the school officials based on their knowledge of what a student needs to know and be able to do if he or she is to be certified by the university as having knowledge in a given field.

School officials may suggest new course requirements in between formal reviews when they see a need for it.

Students who discover problems in the transfer of credits must go through an appeal process that involves identifying the course description from the previous college and filling out a form for acceptance of the course from the department under which his or her degree is to be attained.

Course requirements differ from one college to the next so it is important to look into your options carefully.

Students who plan to transfer to another college should check with their intended destination campus to determine what policies are in place for transferring credits before applying.
